Basic Paragraph Structure


This video shows the structure and organization of a paragraph, as well as the importance of the sentences that complement it.
It consists of 3 steps:
 
1. TOPIC SENTENCES
It is the main idea of the paragraph.
It is one of the most important parts of the text, since it captures the attention of the reader because it contextualizes and enunciates the theme that we are going to develop. The main idea is given priority.

2. SUPPORTING SENTENCES
 Is develop the main idea. They are "supporting" because it is explain, the idea expressed in the topic sentence or main idea with examples that complement the topic sentence.

3. CONCLUDING SENTENCES
Is give closure to the paragraph. It is a synthesis of the main ideas that were developed in the body of the text; In the development paragraphs. In addition, it presents a commentary or a brief reflection on the subject worked.
